This is where Goku’s journey into the world of Dragon Balls begins, and he begins to meet all of his amazing friends along his journey. The best part about these seven orbs of the universe is that when they all gather together, they summon a wish-granting dragon! She convinces him to leave with her and explore the world of the seven orbs which are the Dragon Balls. The story of Goku is that he grew up isolated from the rest of his peers, but this allows him to train for martial arts pretty much daily until he meets a young girl named Bulma. Hence the super amazing and quick fighting skills they have in Dragon Ball. Toriyama not only used the legendary novel we mentioned above, but he also mixed in some ideas from Hong Kong martial art films that he had watched over the years.
DRAGON BALL Z SERIES SERIES
Either way, I think most of us can understand why Goku remained the same and is one of the best human fighters in all of the universes in DB! The History of the Dragon Ball SeasonsĪt the very beginning of it all, Toriyama began the series here through comics and magazines back in the early to mid-80s, was her very first depiction of Dragon Ball where it appeared in the Weekly Shonen Jump, a very popular magazine in the 80s. This could also be why Goku was the main character, or the main character was the one without personality change from the beginning.
This is when Dragon Ball began to take off and become an Anime and manga favorite. All of the character’s personalities were changed except for Goku. Due to the series’ unpopularity, Toriyama re-wrote Dragon Boy, adapting it as Dragon Ball. The new Dragon Ball series then became all about the Chinese legendary novel, Journey to the West, depicting monkey king Sun Wukong. The series then took a turn for the better when Akira decided to mix in what he knew and loved all of his life. This was soon put to rest, and a new story emerged. Sounds a tad like the beginning of every fairy tale ever.
This original story depicted a young boy named Tanton and his quest to return a princess to her homeland. Dragon Ball, in the very beginning stages, started off as a manga series called Dragon Boy. Something that had them watching every "crappy" episode in every "crappy" saga.Dragon Ball is a Japanese media franchise that started in 1984 and is still going strong today in 2020. Something they couldn't ignore no matter how much they tried. If they hated it so much, why keep watching? If it was "that" bad, why watch another episode? There must have been something there that cried out for them to keep watching. Lets say yes they did watch more episodes. How could they know all the sagas are pretty much the same thing over and over again if they only watched two or three episodes? More over, if they only watched two or three episodes of a show with well over 150 episodes, they have no right to write any kind of commentary about it at all. The writers of these comments also, more often than not, talk about how they hated the show so much that they stopped watching it after two or three episodes. I noticed that most of the negative comments written about this series all talk about how the show's sagas are basically the same thing over and over again (and yes I know they basically are).
But I didn't write here just to praise the show. I'm not saying it's the best show out there, it's just "my" favorite. And let me tell you I've seen quite a bit. First of all, yes I am a big anime fan and yes Dragonball Z is my hands down favorite anime.
